Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 gets VGA trailer and details
The original Castlvania: Lords of Shadow was a bold new step to give the Castlevania franchise a new beginning. Some people loved and some didn’t. It seems to be a pretty polarizing game. As for my opinion on it, it’s mixed but I enjoyed a good deal of it. Konami is doubling down on Mercury Steam with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which will bring an end to this darker take on Castlevania.
Konami has released the full trailer today; along with with some new details that Lords of Shadow fans are going to really dig. LoS2, “will be a game that spans centuries with much of it taking place in the present day.” The whole game won’t be split up into chapters, like the original was, as its producer Dave Cox has confirmed (via his twitter) that there will be no chapter breaks, with the whole experience set to flow seamlessly. That should make for a better flow to the story; hopefully.
Lords of Shadow 2 will also have a much larger cast of characters and open-world environments to play in with the Dark Lord and his many powers. Gabriel/Dracula will also have new weapons besides the combat cross, like the sword we see him using in the new trailer, which has been named the ‘Void Sword’. Things are different when we’re pit in the modern setting though, with Dracula having to slowly regain their dark powers to become the Prince of Darkness once more. Everything is being powered by MercurySteam’s new Mercury Engine 2.
And if you’re wondering if your family, the infamous Belmont Clan will still be trying to stop the great big bad, the answer is yes. Expect Alucard and several other Belmont’s to make an appearance.
